Position: Editor
Status: Part-time
Contractor (15-20
hours per week)

Job Description:
Cobblestone
Press is an
electronic publisher
of erotic romance
and short story
erotica. We take
pride in our
pro-author
atmosphere and
strict devotion to
offering the highest
quality of sensual
literature to
readers. We are
looking for a
self-starter with an
affinity for spicy
love stories. This
person must have
good communication
skills, exhibit a
mastery of the
English language,
and have a working
knowledge of basic
word-processing
software.
Location:
Since Cobblestone
Press is an
electronic
publisher, all
business is
conducted online;
therefore,
applicants must have
a computer with
Internet access.

The editor's
responsibilities
include:
-
Ensuring all
grammar,
punctuation, and
spelling
expectations are
met.

Ensuring that
formatting
standards are
adhered to,
according to a
style guide.
-
Maintain
integrity of
each author's
voice while
meeting high
standards of
quality
assurance and
professionalism
throughout the
editing process.

Requirements or
Qualifications:
- Software
Requirements:
Microsoft Word
2003 (or later).
- Working
knowledge of
Microsoft Word
and its "Track
Changes"
feature.
- Ability to work
as a team player
and with limited
supervision.
- Ability to
balance and
prioritize
multiple tasks
under
fast-paced,
deadline
pressure.
- Ability to
demonstrate
solid English
grammar, as well
as strong copy
editor skills,
with attention
to detail.
- Ability to
demonstrate an
understanding of
fiction-writing
methodology
(POV,
characterization,
GMC, etc.)
- Good people
skills and the
ability to
convey feedback
to authors in a
positive way is
a plus.
- An associate's
degree or
comparable
editing
experience is
preferred.
- Because of the
nature of the
content we
publish,
applicants must
be 18 years old
or older.
